Binance Announces Altcoin Delisting and Conversion to USDC

Binance Announces Altcoin Delisting and Conversion to USDC

Binance has made an important announcement, revealing plans to delist several altcoins by April 28, 2025. Users’ holdings in these altcoins will be converted to USDC, with withdrawals supported until October 28, 2024.

Token Conversion and Withdrawal Notice

The exchange has advised users to take a snapshot of their holdings and submit it by October 29, 2024. Binance will convert the delisted tokens to an equivalent amount of USDC based on the average exchange rate during the conversion period.

Binance will send an updated notice and email all affected users once the token conversions are completed. While deposits of the delisted tokens are no longer supported, withdrawals will remain available until October 28.

The following tokens are affected by the delisting:

  • Vai (VAI)
  • Tornado Cash (TORN)
  • OMG Network (OMG)
  • Waves (WAVES)
  • NEM (XEM)
  • BarnBridge (BOND)
  • Dock (DOCK)
  • Mdex (MDX)
  • Polkastarter (POLS)
  • Pundi X PURSE (PURSE)

The conversion will be finalized by April 28, 2025, at 23:59 UTC, at which point users will no longer be able to view these tokens in their Binance wallets.

Binance May Delist Additional Altcoins

Binance had previously flagged five additional altcoins that could be removed, namely BLZ, CLV, KEY, PROS, and VITE. These tokens saw significant price drops following the announcement.

Binance continues to assess tokens based on their stability, trading volume, and development activity, placing some on a Monitoring Tag list due to increased volatility and risk. Tokens on this list no longer meet Binance’s strict listing criteria, leading to the possibility of future delisting.

Following the announcement, VITE experienced the sharpest decline, dropping nearly 25%, while PROS and CLV fell by 15.74% and 15.22%, respectively. Although KEY and BLZ also dropped, they have since recovered part of their losses.
